2002 Mitsubishi Montero Module communication

      I'm have an issue with communicating with the ETAC module on a '02 Montero using a MAXIdas 708 . The scan tool states the it is able to communicate, that is it shows ETAC in the selection list of  modules yet when you try to communicate with the module the message for no communication with the module appears. Testing the circuit from the tools connector to the actual module shows not only continuity both also shows about 4.5 VDC which I'm to believe is the normal voltage that would be on a data bus. Has anyone else also run into this issue & and is this a programming issue that we weren't issued?

      If you cannot get communication with a module from the autoscan result page then exit, select the vehicle and the selection separately. If car is older or in certain geographic areas might still even have a Mitsubishi connector, but doubt it.
